ZiKD

ZiKD / Centre for Immersive Art and Design

This exhibition is intended to give a foretaste of the programme of the Centre for Immersive Art and Design (ZiKD), which will open in Zurich next year. The dedicated goal of the ZiKD is to establish a forward-looking offering in the field of immersive art and interactive design. Visitors to the centre of excellence will be able to experience current artistic works on the themes of digitalisation and immersion in art and design. The ZiKD is to become a place of exchange, reflection and mediation.

The exhibition "Very F***ing Real! Augmented Reality Face-Filters in Art" is an exemplary test of the future programme and is intended to strike the playful, low-threshold tone that ZiKD strives for.

Identity

The "ZiKD" is to become a centre of excellence for the presentation and experience of immersive art and design. An international orientation and networking, a dedicated reflection on the development and implementation of interactive digital technologies and the mediation of art and design projects dealing with these topics define the "ZiKD's" field of activity.

Mission

In two exhibitions per year, the "ZiKD" will present current projects and positions in the field of interactive art and immersive design. Through interdisciplinary formats such as conferences, workshops and various target group-specific mediation offers, the "ZiKD" provides an educational and exciting offer to a broad audience. The "ZiKD" does not see itself as a museum-like, conserving institution, but is dedicated to the latest phenomena in the field of immersive technologies.

Target Audience

The "ZiKD" addresses a broad public and is aimed equally at families, media artists, educational institutions and a national and international professional audience. The centre aims to mediate and stimulate public discourse on the current and future opportunities and dangers of new technologies that shape our society.
